This wasn't the paper that I was asked to comment on. And yes, something to watch. We have sequenced a number of these in CT and NY. But we are also sequencing a lot of different things. B.1.525 is one to watch too - but not going to the press about it!pic.twitter.com/NvpAZcnDGP
Agree. I got the same one, Nathan. In track changes, no Figures, a "preprint" that obviously had bot been submitted. This is a slippery slope, for sure.pic.twitter.com/Bu1gXqvPCS
I can see an argument to have careful press outreach ahead of posting to bioRxiv as a preprint by itself may not get the most accurate reporting (or the first reporting may not be the most accurate). However, I think that media reports should be embargoed before preprint posting.

Muting this and signing off. Going to watch the rest of Iron Man for the nth time instead.
so journals are getting NYT to manage their peer reviews, slick! And they said *that's* why we pay 8k/yr for a subscription
The press model is broken by the drive for click bait. Sorry to say. Journalism is only practiced by very few “journalists” Fear and Management are driving this I’m sad to say.
As someone who once dreamed of being an investigative journalist (before falling down the rabbit hole of nursing) it’s been pretty heartbreaking to watch the decline of a once respected field.
