Never mind the emotional drain caused by his show, how about your pocketbook? Your household debt? Your job prospects? Your kid’s job prospects.

I am self-employed. My tax rate went up.
Full disclosure, I made more money than last year. And I'm not certain what the new deductible did to offset the higher rate.
However, that means, if anything, my economic status is a wash. But I dont measure us in economic value;

A percentage of people, who are not billionaires or millionaires, did gain financially. So a blanket statement like that isn't as useful as you think.

I brought home more money last year, my 401k is thriving, the company I work for is now thriving and we will soon be shipping product to China and my tax return was more than the year prior.

Even those doing better are doing it because of a sugar rush economy fueled by exploding the national debt.
