I think that the Obama attacks on Romney are extremely reminiscent of the Trump attacks on Clinton, for instance

it does not, but certain positions compliment the message and others don't (and i'd argue climate is lower on the list than trade, for ex)

Am fairly confident that he will repeatedly remind them of theme of restoring America's sovereignty & not letting foreign countries dictate.

Maybe not if the opposition has even less to offer or a weaker connection to those voters.
Again, my point isn't about Paris agreement specifically. It's about broader themes.
