For now, the model is a bit skeptical about McMullin's chances of actually winning, but 1 or 2 more good polls would go a long way.

Any chance that Clinton could/would remove herself from the ballot in order to give McMullin a better shot?
-
Only thing that helps her is winning the state.
-
Eh, I’m not sure you’re right. Utah was already a wash for her. McMullin can steal 6 electoral votes from DJT.
-
Would effectively make Trump’s path that much more difficult.
-
So Trump doesn't get to 270 EV's. Okay. So what? Nobody gets a majority. It goes to the House of Representatives, and Trump wins
-
actually, I think McMullin has as much of a chance of winning a House vote as Trump, if not more of a chance.
-
They've already demonstrated this.
-
plus, don't forget that McMullin was a GOP House staffer. They know him.

who? what? huh?
-
remember a long time ago when Romney and some others floated an alternative to turnip? This is that guy.
-
why is he suddenly getting 3% of the vote in Utah? And why Utah?
-
Mormons hate turnip, hate Clinton, love Romney. Also, this guy's a Mormon.

I'm not from the US and this is very confusing: there can be "local" presidential candidates? how does that make sense?
-
Each state votes within themselves, sends # of "electors" to cast deciding votes on behalf of state.
-
# of electors = # of Senators (2) + # of Reps (depends on population)
