I think it's great that states are giving people more ways to vote. But having more voting tranches (e.g. early votes, mail votes, satellite caucuses) makes election-night vote counting a lot harder, and it doesn't feel like anybody has adjusted to this reality enough.

It is, but fundamentally having an electorate screaming and putting together conspiracy theories when the data comes in more slowly than they'd like is, in fact, bad

media desperation is 90% of the issue here and directly feeds the conspiracy theories that are like 9% of it

Also a motive to diminish the publicity of Biden’s awful performance as long as possible given NH next Tuesday

Doing actual democracy is hard isn’t it? Reporting on people who work and use things like satellite sites is harder than wealthy areas with established election structures sucks doesn’t it?

It’s only an issue to the media trying to run a news show like a sporting event. If they came on and said “we don’t know because of x y and z but we’ll know sometime tomorrow” and move on instead of building the entire night of coverage around it, everyone would accept it.

I mean, the electorate pretty solidly demands answers immediately. I'm still seeing people who are super upset that the 3% hasn't come out yet

Best way is 100% vote by mail. Works wonders in Washington State
