      @sean_ahmed It is harder for anthropologists to go study the Japanese game now because of anger, defensiveness about Whiting's inaccuracies.

      @sean_ahmed Well, sure. But part of it is just the (justified) belief that Whiting had racist preconceptions and got it all wrong.

      @sean_ahmed Yeah, haven't looked at this stuff in ~8 years. Whiting isn't all bad or wrong, of course. But it's at least problematic.
