      @QuantPoker @apokerplayer My wife worked at a shelter for 5 years. Shuddered at the thought of the coinflip. Ugh.

      @NateMeyvis Yeah, many seem shocked. Thinking about saying something. Separating the families before the draw would at least help a little.

      @NateMeyvis They were sympathetic but also said it was their standard practice to settle many close calls with flips, which seems weird.

      @NateMeyvis Just learned via the fosters, the other family DID think they were getting the dog 100%. They'd bought a bowl w/ his name. Ugh..

      @QuantPoker Oh, no! Want to hug those kids. IMO that policy is terrible. Again: there are more great dogs than good homes. They'll be fine.
