Re: conflating probabilities. Ties in with the old Puggy Pearson quote about what’s essential about gambling: "Knowing the 60/40 end of a proposition, money management, and knowing yourself"
I know @mattg312cards often (rightly) talks about how important it is to know the difference between 6-1 and 8-1. And how hard it is for an untrained person to be fluent with bets in that range.
