Two big lightbulb claims from _The Art of Learning_: (1) Maximize the leverage of practice by working right near the edge of your competence. (I hear about this one a lot.) (2) Learn to work harder for longer by working at *recovering* more efficiently. (Rarely discussed?)

Recovery from stress (in the broad sense of "stress") is a skill. It can be learned and refined. It was not apparent to me, but perfectly obvious in hindsight, that I could better improve my next chunk of work output by improving what I was doing when I *wasn't* working.
