Why do we like it when strangers like the same books (movies, music) we do? (1) we're uncertain whether what we like is really good & seek confirmation (2) we are philanthropic & want others to enjoy what we independently know to be really good (3) another reason (please reply)
Another candidate (that's important to me): We want to experience what we like fully. There are ways of experiencing things that can't be done alone. So we're delighting in the prospect of being able to experience what we like more richly and fully.
