Hi! Today (in Eastern MA) I saw a bird that was solid grey save for a bright red region on the head and bright white regions on the wings. The size of a small hawk, maybe. Any birders out there? I've checked a bunch of sites / apps without any luck. #birding

I feel like the size is wrong but there's a red headed woodpecker that fits this description assuming it's a black body
Yep, I think it's very likely that's correct and I just am not good at perceiving bird details quickly yet.
