Ha! That’s great. My memories: Clemens going for 300th, Tigers came back late. Then a WHOLE NOTHER GAME pitched by (IIRC) Steve Sparks, mainly. Then I realized my parents were going to wonder where I was and that I should call to say “uh hey still at that game five hours later.”
Yes. David Wells was the other "starter" (he had been scheduled to skip the start because of a minor injury--to his back, if memory serves). It was hot out. I remember at least one squandered Tigers opportunity. And I did not think to call my parents, but should have!
