Depending on exactly what it is, either Google Docs or Workflowy.

Where do you use each?

Workflowy for organizing notes hierarchically; I (try to) keep notes on podcasts I listen to, everything I read, etc. When there's some separate thing I want to write up (as a complete thought), Docs is usually the first thing I go to.
