I have not (though I have the sense I've absorbed some of the material in interviews, through other behavioral psych / econ material, etc.). Thanks for the reference!

he basically runs through a scenario on if your mother in law made a wonderful thanksgiving dinner and then as a thank you, you offered her money for it. And why that would be awkward/less rewarding than a sincere thank you, etc.

it's a good book that got me into behavioral econ type stuff though. I would also recommend Subliminal by Leonard Mlodinow (and the Drunkard's Walk, which is older).
