TFW your son has been taught “Bye Bye Bye” semi-ironically by a day care worker who was in diapers when “Bye Bye Bye” was released
[Googles it] "Eh, I've never been into techno, probably a really big deal in that world though" [sees 2000 release date] [goes to YouTube] "Oh holy crap THAT song!"

And yet Eric Church hasn’t caught on. Alas.

OK, I'd never heard of him, and the first song I listen to sounds like a cross between two subgenres of country I listen to heavily. I have new running music!

Hilariously, Vice did a series on songs of that vintage: https://www.georgefm.co.nz/home/music/2017/12/vice-dropped-the-ultimate-darude-sandstorm-documentary.html … There’s also one about “Blue” (I’m blue da-ba-de-da-ba-da) if you want to travel down memory lane.

"Blue" I could not only name but tell you the artist for reflexively. Probably "Du Hast" would be in this category if it weren't fairly trivial to remember the title? (And I guess Rammstein wasn't a one-hit wonder?)
