BREAKING: House Oversight is investigating whether US military expenditures have been propping up Trump Turnberry. A peculiar refueling stop in Glasgow by a US Air Force crew, who stayed overnight at the resort—there & back—tipped them off. One crew member was so struck by the choice of hotel—markedly different than the Marriotts and Hiltons the 176th maintenance squadron is used to—that he texted someone close to him and said the crew’s per diem allowance wasn’t enough to cover food and drinks at the ritzy resort.

Had the crew needed to make a stop in the U.K.—which they have never done before on this routine trip—Lakenheath Air Base is situated nearby in England. The layover might have been cheaper, too: the military gets billed at a higher rate for fuel at commercial airports.

“The Defense Department has not produced a single document in this investigation,” said a senior Democratic aide on the oversight panel. “The committee will be forced to consider alternative steps if the Pentagon does not begin complying voluntarily in the coming days.”

It should also be noted that the military has spent $11 million on fuel at Prestwick Airport — the closest airport to Trump Turnberry, where this particular crew’s plane refueled in March — since October 2017. That fuel would be cheaper if purchased at a U.S. military base.

Good job. I’d bet a close look at ALL federal expenditures would reveal ties to Trump Properties or Trump approved contractors. Everything from infrastructure to wall to defense to police.

Okay, but is using the US military to prop up #SharpiePresident’s failing golf empire really the best way to get re-elected?pic.twitter.com/9ln5mVz12T

Kim, maybe he doesn't really like the job and is stockpiling money, his primary concern, so that when he leaves office, he can set himself up, nicely. I mean there have been 40 gop seats come available for 2020 for not rerunning. He's found out how to steal taxpayer's $$-Bonus

@MollyJongFast always says kleptocrats gonna klept but this is some next-level corruption. Individual-1 is on track to be remembered as the most corrupt politician in American history.

@kim too... Maybe taking money from the military for the border wall pissed off enough GOP members? Because, you know, his constant inhumanity wouldn’t be enough.
