Did you know that was among the activists who organized ‘The Committee for Equal Justice for Mrs. Recy Taylor,’ a Black woman who was gang raped by six White men in 1944 Alabama? Long before she refused to give up her seat, Mrs. Parks was standing for justice.

  10. No! I spent the last 3 yrs of my daughter’s life(she died 8 months ago) fighting to protect the healthcare that kept her alive. I had to do this bc of your continued attempts to gut & condition protections. I live w/ anger, anxiety & regret.

“Hardly a day goes by without the Trump administration finding a new way to slash the safety net. But its latest proposal — which would cut Social Security disability benefits by $2.6 billion over 10 years — is one of the cruelest. -

There is a community of us moms who know how hard is it to not die after tragedy. I am asking everyone in that community to pray without ceasing for Vanessa. That is all. My God..... 💔

The Grow With Sophia series is coming soon! We will have short episodes that give you a glimpse into our lives with Sophia. We want to share the unconditional love, true beauty, and acceptance that she taught us and we want to keep her story and impact alive.

I've debated whether to share what happened the night I went back to Dulles Airport to help two travelers arriving from Iran who were detained for nearly 7 hours. Retaliation is certainly something I've considered as an immigration lawyer, but these days it just seems so real.

  16. Follow this hashtag! Listen, learn and CHANGE if you have done these things. If you tell me I should've killed my child or not fought so hard to protect her and keep her alive

  18. Realizing it was anxiety and there were ways to manage it was a game-changer for me. I learned to manage it naturally but needed extra help once Sophia died. I'm glad we can openly talk about now and connect with others who share similar experiences, another game changer for me.

  19. Openly talking about mental health is so important. I realized that I had anxiety most of my life which shaped me as a person, how I felt about myself and why I always chose to be a loner. We didn't talk about mental health in the 80’s so I held it all in & just thought it was me

  21. I'm so appreciative of Matt for talking about mental health & for asking this question. I answered it which led to helpful conversations & connections to people that understand. It's been a struggle since losing my . I can't manage my anxiety attacks as I did before.
