    From now on when some author complains that the SF/F genre isn't like it was back when he was winning awards, my response will be to pick up one of the many great SF/F stories being published today and enjoy the hell out of it! 13/13

    I love mind blowing science. This is a good one

    Today in my general relativity class I got to talk about my favorite SUPER WEIRD COSMOLOGY FACT which is that if you have galaxies of the same size at different distances, beyond a certain distance, the farther away the galaxy is the BIGGER it appears in the sky (!!!)

    Almost through a book that has been excellent but I might not even finish it. *Yet again* we discover the female MC is the way she is because of SA. Don't know who needs to hear it, but women can be interesting, badass, and even unhinged without SA. This is so tired. I am tired.

    Brutal but after ten years in the biz, I agree with this post (and guilty of some of these complaints over the years!). Writers, do you agree with this post?

    Whaaaaat? We read this book many times when my kid was younger. It’s fine. It’s funny. It’s harmless. I wouldn’t expect to find it in classrooms, but I’d be happy if I did. It’d probably get the attention of some reluctant readers & that’d be a good thing.

    Decades ago (srsly) I had a crazy idea to write a novel. I didn't know what I was doing, but I learned, and I did it. See? Gatekeeper's Key is book 1 of my trilogy in 4 parts. It is now out in all formats. (2 & 3 are out in audiobook too!).

    Finished recent edit of my and… Regardless of outcome, I wrote the story I intended to write & I’m satisfied. The final 1/3 does what I hoped—builds to a kick-ass climax that both satisfies the arc and is bittersweet. Mission accomplished! 😊
