There is something sick about the practice. Sadistic. And to do it because of religion, because it's tradition is simply insane.

How is this savage, barbaric practice still allowed? It serves only as an example of the utter cruelty carried out in the name of religion.

FGM is un-Islamic while boy's circumcision is Islamic. UK has no right to ban circumcision. Circumcision reduces the risk of STI's, such as syphilis.Aside from its health benefits, I think circumcision transforms a boy to a real man. IA http://www.londonschoolofislamics.org.uk

Oh! Look where circumcision didn’t prevent HIV.

Is curious that no other healthy part is ever removed because some day there may be some issue. CIRCUMCISION is clearly aimed to alter the genitalia due to personal preference and/or religious beliefs

So right... laws are usually the last things to change. The law follows society rather than society following the law.

Apart from Brexit when has any government listened to a majority of opinion - they’re never going to legislate so boys will continue to be lawfully disfigured

I have never met any adult men who say they would have preferred NOT to be circumcised, including me ;-) And, it's a heck of lot better to get it done when a baby than when an adult ! I think people need to mind their own children's business ! TMI ? LOL

When the conversation is about
#FGM, the focus is on the individual; the person whose body and whose human rights are being violated. When it’s about male infant#circumcision, the focus is on his parents, their#religiousfreedom and#parentalchoice. Why is that.
-
Because PARENTS are legally responsible for/in control of the care of THEIR children until at least the age of 18(?). My mother was a nurse(RN) and knew the BENEFITS of circumcision ;-)
-
My father was uncircumcised but, approved of ALL four(4) of his sons being circumcised (He too probably knew the BENEFITS outweighed a very short time of discomfort if any ?).
-
Some mothers approve circumcision for all of their daughters. I’m sure they believe it’s “beneficial” too. You would circumcise yourself and your daughters if there were “benefits” too, huh. Wouldn’t you. Yes, I’m sure it’s all about “benefits.”

Except that’s not entirely true. Here, let me educate you since you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about... ahem...

There is a variety of
#FGM. The@WHO categorizes then into four. Not all varieties remove the clitoris. Actually, none do, or can. Male infant#circumcision is always compared to the worst kind in Africa, false comparison since it’s not being compared to male circ in Africa.#i2 - 17 more replies
