Did You Know? A Thread. Hardrock mining is essential to our country’s prosperity and welfare, supplying minerals we rely on in daily life. Elements that make up your smartphone require massive amounts of critical minerals, as seen below⬇️pic.twitter.com/L2xmdYFua8

It doesn't stop there. In order to make solar panels, wind turbines, batteries for electric vehicles... we must first mine and process minerals. Today, the great majority of U.S. demand for minerals is met by China, despite plentiful domestic resources.pic.twitter.com/qNHZFba02b

Unfortunately, Democrats seem to have forgot where all the ingredients of renewable energy technologies come from. Anyone who is motivated to increase renewable energy in this country must account for the materials needed to build those technologies.👇 https://republicans-naturalresources.house.gov/UploadedFiles/Foreign_Policy_-_Mining_the_Future.pdf …

Democrats are considering H.R. 2579, which would alter the underpinnings of our domestic hardrock industry so greatly that investment would be driven abroad, making us even more reliant on countries like China and Russia to meet our goals. Only one 'minor' problem, you can't drink a smart phone after the water resources and aquifers are polluted with sulfuric acid from a spill or mine/holding failure.

Keystone went through environmental reviews and the company said it could prevent environmental damage. Guess what they were wrong. This is why Sulfide mining is wrong for our area. Spills happen and Sulfide spills despoil water resources permanently.

So we must pollute the Boundary Waters to have cell phones?.

Gaslighting 101 from the republicans. They think we're suckers. These Evil Grifters actually think we're that gullible to believe that our cell phone communication depends on their Putin-backed mining project in the #BoundaryWaters.
