I spent 21 years in California, born and raised there, and this is true. In South OC where I grew up, practically every fire that came about was man-made. It doesn't help that 90-something % of state forests are federally controlled either...

ignition source is irrelevant to anyone but law enforcement and insurance companies. Factors must first be in place to allow the fire to spread and increase in intensity. All those factors are related to climate change.

Seriously
@BenGoldey?!? Do all the corporate shills at the GOP's@NatResources Committee not understand that while human-beings ignite the vast majority of#wildfires in the U.S. this has absolutely no correlation with your denial of#climatechange? - 1 more reply

How about fire intensity, destructiveness and size? Nice strawman argument though.

Also it's disgusting to see a Congressional committee linking to extreme right wing propaganda like the Daily Caller

Is there any way the unusually hot and dry climate contributed to the growth and rapid spread of these fires?

Global warming is caused by humans. These wildfires are also caused by human interaction with the environment. So really the point is we need to take better care of our planet and develop responsibly.
