National Butterfly

Unfortunately, most Americans understand our politicians lie. We've been conditioned not to believe anything they say while campaigning, esp. Who could've imagined Congress would be complicit in something this expensive, inefficient & egregious, after a decade of lessons learned?

Maybe whoever is running the @NatButterflies account today needs to think about how to phrase your support of your dumbass employee who contributed to this mess and has the moral backbone of a slug and is now whining publicly about shooting himself and your org in the face.

Because while I really support not building a wall as an ecological and sociology-cultural travesty, I now have NO warm feelings for you, @NatButterflies. Right up there with Ralph Pastor of Seventh Generation Institute in taking criticism, are you?

We're still struggling to comprehend why we should take the criticism for an employee's vote, which he chose to make public, with regrets; or his op-ed which does not attack any person or group, other than the party he used to support. So, no, not like Pastor Ralph.

Just so we're clear, you are currently taking criticism for inexplicably defending your colleague's freedom of speech and/or making excuses for him with the "everyone knows politicians lie!" line instead of speaking up for the value of the Center and the conservation work.

Had you responded briefly clarifying that he doesn't speak for the organization and immediately redirected the conversation to what's actually important, you'd be getting far more support right now. But go on and die on the hill of "but he's a good guy WHO WAS LIED TO" I guess

The only thing you are accomplishing with this current strategy is conveying that you care more about justifying why Luciano hasn't been fired/isn't REALLY a horrible person than doing anything and everything in your power to rally support for the centre and save it.

I honestly don't understand how you can possibly be oblivious to how awful and callous your organization now looks and how thoroughly you're torpedoing what would have been a solid wave of support from many, many people who might have been on your side and helped you out.
