Your first reply was to suggest that there is nothing at all wrong with voting for someone who called Mexican people rapists because "all politicians lie." What is happening in America is what the president campaigned on. Bigotry. Cruelty. Abuse. You can't just elide that.
We cannot, nor is it our job to, justify the way private citizens vote; nor can we discriminate against political affiliation when hiring or firing. Please note, this is an Op-Ed by an employee, not the organization.

No one has suggested that you should discriminate against any political affiliation. But you indeed did attempt to justify your employee's vote in your earlier comment. And when you do that, you align yourself with those sympathies. Alienating some who may have supported you.
