Unfortunately, most Americans understand our politicians lie. We've been conditioned not to believe anything they say while campaigning, esp. Who could've imagined Congress would be complicit in something this expensive, inefficient & egregious, after a decade of lessons learned?

Already seeing a lot of “oh screw your butterflies, no one cares that Trump turned on you” from people who would otherwise probably be inclined to sympathy. This was a bad PR move, plain and simple.
