Today there were five explosions in Kabul alone killing and injuring innocent people. It breaks my heart that this is the reality for as the country becomes poorer and more broken every day.

Agreed. Corruption, nepotism etc cause problems, including failure to value & protect life. But the darbar & it’s sycophants won’t admit. In their eyes there are no shortcomings. Making it hard for anyone to defend the republic. The time for self-reflection was yesterday.

Clem Atlee one of our finest PMs didn’t feel uncomfortable about flag & country for a second. No opponents could have called him unpatriotic. This shouldn’t be hard, or distasteful and that for some it is, is very telling. You can love your country & still know it’s faults

Today is international day to . Supporting girls to go to school not only gives them an education. It can give them a safe space free from violence, and to learn about their rights. I'm proud -backed girls clubs across Africa are helping to protect girls from FGM

Tech giants MUST do better. Identifying these anonymous mindless idiots remains problematic. I urge social media platforms and regulatory authorities to strengthen measures! Thank you for leading the way to tackle pernicious effects of racism💪🏻

After four years of lecturing Britain that it could never countenance anything that might lead to a hard border in Ireland, the European Union, in a desperate response to its own vaccine incompetence, introduces a hard border. Then thinks better of it.

"The fact that Britain’s Conservative Party has resisted the temptation, even during a period of populist turmoil, to become a party of white reaction is worth both noticing and celebrating." Really good piece on the growing diversity of the centre right.
