I spent the week discussing how black girls are treated and to end the week seeing this. It is disgusting. I stand with you. The media needs to do better NOW.

Vanessa, you are so strong and so brave for sharing your story. I stand behind you. I know and have experienced your pain. But we must stick together, and fight until our stories are heard, and our messages are amplified. We are in this fight together!!

I am truly disappointed in the media’s lack of representation. They glorify the stories of those who are in the majority. They ignore those who are experiencing climate change in ways bigger than anybody they focus on.

I know what it’s like to sit back and watch as our people are silenced. Black girls are not heard. Our stories are erased. And when we share our stories, we get heart emojis and empty apologies. I am truly sorry for the fact that you were treated like this.
