Hey! Existing terms should have been marked private by default and newly created terms should also be marked private at the time they are added - hope that clears things up! Please let us know if that is not the case!
If this is true, that's a good guard against initial abuse of this system, but it wasn't stated in the article. This should be an opt-in or opt-out, a lot of people wouldn't want their many mods having access to this.
