I'm not sure if its a blessing or a curse, but whenever I'm around accents, I have to fight myself in not mimicking it. Not because I'm trying to insult the person, but because my brain wants me to fit in and sound like everyone I'm engaging with.
Same. Absolutely same. If the other person talks first, I just let myself sink into it as if I'm a recent immigrant, and hope I'll never see them again. It's so hard to avoid this!
