sausages, chocolate, and too many meals out of the house. It was an amazing week and the scale said I'd gained 8lbs after it. A lot of it was just food still inside me, and water weight. The next week of a strict diet got me back to 1lb higher than I was before that crazy week.
Your body definitely, absolutely 100% does compensate for bad weeks. I regained a lot of weight and got to my highest weight a few months ago, and then started losing it again. I'm halfway to where I was before I started gaining again, and recently had a week of pastries, cheese,

It happens to everyone and we can always work through it as long as we do in fact love and respect ourselves, and don't beat ourselves up over it like you said <3 I'm so proud and astonished at all of your progress, it's a lifelong journey, not a yearlong sprint.
