Googled it and the answer I found was that it's possible. Also might be able to keep it in the coat room in front on the plane.
Has anyone had any luck bringing longboards on flights as carry-ons? They technically exceed most carry-on sizes but they are also flat enough to be put on top of bags in overhead bins. Likelihood of stewardesses being accommodating? :D

No it goes in the over head bin ! I took mine to Seattle and long beach , i had it at twitch con. It counts i think as a personal item. Depending on the airlines. Thats my board just so you know for reference , i dont know how big your board is.pic.twitter.com/qfwvp1NVkI

You can! Twitch had to put signs all over saying their longboards were plane safe. They'll let you store it in the overhead
