I wear the checkmark with pride but feel that using my own emotes is self-advertisey if we're not friends. I use other peoples emotes tho :]

Depends how they use it. If it's out of no where with no context it's a little weird. But like a hi or heart is different I feel.

I have no issues with this. I think emotes are a part of Twitch. Unless (of course) it was borderline harassment or a spam.

Never had an issue honestly. I like seeing the variety of emotes around. Usually don't even know they are theirs that first time.
-
I love the variety too but it feels off when a person I don't know uses a new emote of their own with every message first time they're there

Casual/Contextual use is fine, imo. Using it as a passive aggressive form of advertising would be supes rude. "Look at MY new HYPE emote!"🖓

If I'm subbed to that person I will use their emotes 100% of the time. But if I'm not subbed, raiding a new channel, etc. I might use mine.
-
I don't mind others using their emotes in my channel. I just like sharing the love for art and creativity, especially with Twitch emotes.
