I was thinking about the cost of replacing some worn/gone favourite books and *dingding* what about Kindle? Does anyone own one and love it?

It is. But you don't get the feeling of progression through a book. I miss the tactile feel of turning pages and seeing how far I am.
I will too, but I think the pros of a Kindle (for me) far outweigh the cons, so I'm excited :) I know I'll be able to read a lot more, too

Oh I do enjoy my kindle. Its fantastic to get a book on the go. Plus it holds soooo much. It should be fantastic for you.
