There's a big difference: Minecraft is past the cringe phase, and that's why people don't throw shit at it all the time. The Internet always focuses on a few things. Now we have Fortnite and Among Us, even though Fortnite is “a dead game” or something like that.
"Oh, it's pretty cool that my favourite author/literature/thing is being included in XYZ community, but I'm still not interested in that game/media/thing." How easy, rather than claiming some crossover is ruining your interests... What a way to make life unpleasant for yourself

"It pains me to see my favorite thing being ruined by fortnite." You're not being forced to play the game, Fortnite isn't being shoved into the novels. There's disliking, and there's being overly negative and dramatic for no reason. Let people be happy and celebrate literature.
