First time I ever saw the inside of a papaya. Are those seeds edible? For some reason they look like caviar to me.

Yes, they're edible! They're the texture/consistency of peppercorns, and they're actually slightly peppery themselves, so they're not the tastiest things in the world. But in small amounts, they're healthy, and getting one or two among a nice big bite of papaya is a nice touch!
