Nono, that's mango seeds, my mortal enemy! Papayas have a bunch of tiny seeds that are kind of soft on the outside and like peppercorns on the inside, in size and sort of in taste. They're very spicy and it's nice to get one or two of them among a giant spoonful of papaya :D

Looked up an image of mango seeds and biting into one of them must have been brutal.
