Ouch. You know, they make non-slip soles for restaurant workers etc, and I can verify that they're awesome and maybe you should get some. Walmart makes a line of them that's pretty cheap and inoffensive.

Hm, different type of grip though, I think. Hiking boots have a deep tread for grip on soft surfaces like mud, non-slip have a very thin pattern tread for hard surfaces with oil/water on them (like tile, etc)
