Look, I'm not preaching "true gamer" shit and trying to gate-keep ppl, but the whole thing about putting a difficulty slider to souls games is dumb. There's only a perceived difficulty to them, if they're actually impossible, they wouldn't be fun at all.

They're impossible to a lot of people - my mom wouldn't be able to beat them. People with certain disabilities might not be able to beat them. People who don't have enough time to properly practice in a reasonable amount of time might not be able to beat them.

There's plenty of reasons to love Soulslikes that aren't just that they're really difficult. If that was true, people that are really good at Soulslikes wouldn't enjoy Soulslikes.

Not at all against accessibility. Souls games don't have difficulty settings, but you can grind and farm to your heart's content until you can cut thru every enemy like butter. If you don't have time for games why the heck would you even play them.

Bloodborne does not allow you to level up at all until you gain insight. This is done by either seeing the first boss, or acquiring an item which is found quite far in, off the beaten path. It is literally impossible to just farm until you're OP.

You're supposed to lose the first boss fight. If you don't like losing, that's not a problem with the game, that's a problem with you.

I'm not talking about fighting the boss fight. I'm talking about getting to the boss fight through streets of enemies. If you cannot do this because the game is too hard, you cannot grind through it as you were suggesting.

And for the people for whom no amount of effort will ever be enough? They don't get to experience the game. For no reason.

I've been gaming since I was 5, a full time streamer for 5 years. I've played every DS, adore them. I quit BB after 22 hours across 4 days. I couldn't farm a blood vial without dying multiple times, beat either first boss, or get the item to summon a friend. This applies to me.

Miki, I couldn't do it with my effort and experience. I can't imagine the difficulty for those with other barriers. Yes, you die a lot. But if you can *never* beat that first boss, you won't enjoy the game. You claim not to be, but you're gatekeeping and rejecting accessibility
