Keep exposing and proving these people wrong Anne. I hate when they use the term “Men” when clearly they are none of the sort. Only wet behind the ear arrogant boys make comments like that. Good on you for how you handle these... idiots.

The issue with this take, is IS grown men willfully doing this. In a way, it normalizes abhorrent behavior like this, to label them otherwise. As if it's not their choice, they aren't real men, and it's their nature. Besides, there are plenty of better-mannered boys in the world.

I wasn’t intending to generalize boys or say it’s not their choice. My comment was to say that they consider themselves “above women because they are men” when they clearly in my opinion, don’t even have the right to consider themselves as such with such childish comments.

Not 100% sure how to word this. Man is an adult gender identity. There are many terrible men in the world. Great men too! But saying someone shouldn't be allowed to call themselves a man because they're bad implies that "real men" are inherently faultless or good, which is false.

And I completely agree that those guys are scum, and that they don't live up to ideals that we should all uphold. It's just that it doesn't do any good to imply that men are not capable of cruelty, by labeling anyone that is cruel as not a man. If that makes sense

It might even feed egos of people who think they're better simply because they ARE men. Like it's some kind of bulletproof title because of what people think "real men" should be like, and they think "Well hurr durr, I'm a man, so I must be absolutely amazing" while being a dick
