(Not Spoiler) My main problem with Game of Thrones is that half of the time, it's too dark to see anything >___> Give me some brightness and contrast options like horror games do plis?!

My TV has a night mode setting that allows me to watch the screen at night with the lights off. Or would that not work?

Totally. Just making something too dark to clearly see doesn't achieve the same horror effect of not showing the thing, and not seeing it clearly just kind of makes it exasperating and immersion breaking.
