      If I may, this article too.       You said "consequences of their own actions," implying that it's his fault this happened. Yes, he's had a few terrible moments. Yes, there should be accountability, and he + others need to do so much more to denounce that history and stand against it, rid their communities of it.

      This just isn't where the blame, fighting, or majority of the conversation surrounding this shooting should lie. Because I agree 100% about the responsibility. But the scapegoats here (even if they suck) aren't leading the charge supporting racism, antisemitism, sexism, etc.

      True right back at you, thanks for clarifying. I'm also not implying that because worse people exist, we shouldn't focus on this. It just feels like the point here was to focus hate/fear on communities that aren't all about hate crimes+violence, while those that ARE stay hidden.
