Missing. I'm pretty certain is was a poorly worded compliment to your appearance. But who knows, I'm some ignorant guy on the internet that just enjoys it when my ugly ass gets a compliment every once in a while.
It is very much in the wording. There is a world of difference between "you look beautiful without makeup," and "wipe that stuff off your face." the first one is a complement, the second one is demanding I do what he prefers.
