Selective reading imo. If they’re only pulling the positive from it, more power to them. I wish I could do that. But I’m no stranger to feeling offended when someone tries to dictate my actions, because I like being my own person.
There's no power to people who pull the positive from this - it means they're used to hearing manipulative, emotionally abusive, NEGGING!! and perceiving it as a positive. This is extremely harmful and people that appreciate compliments like these really need help :(
