Unfortunately, this. One of my cats insisted on laying on top of my tower no matter what I did. Now my office door stays closed unless the less psycho ones wanna join in. Unfortunately this means the temp goes up quite a bit :(
My cat is small enough to not cover the entire vent at the top so I just let her be up there. An alternative is to put double sided tape on certain things, they'll hate touching it and could over time learn to stay away :D

Tape has never worked for any of my cats. The big fear with them being near the tower at all is static. Didn't
