They have been in the area for six days feeding on mobulas and sharks. Orcas call this place the gourmet Baja! . Miracles? Indeed. This type of encounter is not very common, and you need to be at the right place at the right time.

While enjoying the epic humpback whales giving birth to their calves and mating, orcas appear out of nowhere. This week a pod of 11 orcas, formed by one alpha-male and 10 females start with what they consider “el gran festín.”

What we do know is that they travel in huge schools. Thousands of rays gather in a single location all traveling the same direction, which is an impressive spectacle, especially when you get the chance to see this while diving underwater.

Then, the eel would move in for the kill and would flush out other prey for the grouper. This hunting strategy means that both species benefit. As groupers are quite bulky, they need the eel to help them get prey that hides in small coral reef crevices.

First, groupers try to persuade moray eels to hunt with them by performing a sort of head-shaking dance and most of the time, the eel would respond by following the grouper which would repeat the dance over the crevice where prey was hiding.
