    Today, the Yazidi community lost a beacon of light with the passing Baba Sheikh. The Yazidi spiritual leader embodied our values of wisdom, kindness & tolerance. He led the community by example & treated Yazidi survivors with love & respect. He will be forever missed.

    The community is mourning the loss of another innocent life. After ISIS claimed the lives of her husband & son, Sheren committed suicide by self immolation in the IDP camp where she was displaced for 6 years & suffered from severe depression w/out support for her recovery

    Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister . We discussed the vital need to enable the return of still displaced Yazidis, rehabilitate Sinjar, provide justice to Yazidi survivors, and rescue those still missing in ISIS captivity.
