Anti-intellectualism exists on the Left as much as the Right. It's just a different flavor.

Very unfortunately true. I've had leftists get mad at me when I try to explain the science behind cleaning up toxic chemicals and that sometimes, those pollutants will flat out have to be stored somewhere and can't always be made into something non-toxic.
It bothers me that science is often either treated as basically magic or just dismissed outright.

Much like any creative field, science is often either a lifesaver when we need it or the singular cause of our downfall when we fuck up. Without any regard for the institutions or modes of thought that those creative fields operate in, of course. Nuance too hard.
