I went by Billie for 12 years. My 7th grade drama teacher couldn’t say my name. I used it again when I got my first job but then everyone forgot my real name. So I dropped it, I had everyone relearn my name. If people actually care, they will take the time to learn your name.

Nabila(h) is from Arabic nabil, "noble". It looks like it was borrowed off of medieval French, like English "noble" itself. Although it might be a coincidence. "Noble" < Latin nôbilis, more-or-less "well-known".
