I wasn’t about to have it. So I called Blue Cross and they played dumb trying to tell me they never got a bill. Apparently my claim got “lost”. No one is being helpful and this scary piece of paper in the mail is telling me I’ll go to collections if I don’t pay up. 2/4

After some more calls the exasperated lady handling my claim at the hospital told me her supervisor dropped it. She told me it was under her supervisors discretion to make the bill go away. 3/4

Even when I had insurance the system tried to gaslight me & send me to collections. I was at the mercy of a supervisor even though none of it was my fault. We deserve more than this system. Health care is a human right and we shouldn’t be put into debt in order to seek it 4/4

Glad to hear they dropped the charge! Goes to show that hospitals can not put people in medical bankruptcy, but choose not to. We deserve better.

Currently experiencing this myself.From an emergency room dr. Bill not covered by my insurancebecause they gave it to a ‘negotiating company’ to try to get fee reduced.Dr refused to accept the negotiation and is trying to collect full amount from me. Nightmare. System is broken.

Oh I fought them. What helped me was that bill was from 2 years ago and I could tell they felt stupid asking me to pay. They knew it wasn’t my fault but played chicken to see if I would pay it.

I used a program the hospital set up to save $2000 on a surgery. Got a bill for the full amount the next month. Oops, 2 accounts. The one without the program got billed. Had to get them to fix it before it became a late bill. *Facepalm*
