Hi Wrimos! It’s here for the next half hour for a #nanocoach session! I’m the author of The Belle of Belgrave Square and lots of other fic & nonfic books. Send me all your questions and I’ll try my best to answer them :)

Do you have any writing rituals, during NaNo but also the rest of the year?

No particular writing rituals, except for a need for silence. Once I have my writing space set up and there's quiet, I can usually begin!

Just wondering on an average day, how many words do you write? Does it vary or is it fairly consistent? #nanocoach

Hi Sinead! It's not consistent at all. Some days I manage only a few hundred words others a few thousand. I have to accommodate a neck injury, so it always varies depending on my pain level.

Also, loved your book Lady’s guide to fashion and beauty! Did your interest in Victorian era predate your writing or did your novel writing make you do research on the era?

So glad you enjoyed it :) My interest predates books. I wrote & researched a lot about the Victorian era during college and law school. I love all things Victorian! #NaNoCoach

I believe in letting your imagination flow during your first draft. Don't rein yourself in too much. You can always edit it down and reshape it during revisions! #NaNoCoach

Hi Callie! I don't outline anything. I start all of my books with an idea for a single scene. I build the rest of the novel from that scene. It happens in layers, with varying word counts for each book. #NaNoCoach
