"Doctors must speak out on gun violence – because it is our lane" Thank you🙏🏽, for writing this. For all that we rest on our laurels in Canada, we. are. not. ok. *8* times the gun-related mortality vs. 🇬🇧 or 🇯🇵 means we need better gun policy.

‘Doctors must speak out on gun violence’. A very important piece written by my colleague and mentor ⁦⁩. I will never forget sewing a barely beating heart for the first time after a gunshot injury under her supervision many years ago.

As Mayor, I will be a fierce advocate for a more liveable city for seniors. Seniors make up 14% of Toronto's population but represent 65% of pedestrian deaths. We need to transform the way our streets are designed – here's how I plan to do that:

I invite Torontonians to compare John Tory’s “SmartTrack” — really just a handful of GO stations paid for by the City — to the city-wide network planning approach I’ve outlined today. See my plan at

From North York to downtown, and Scarborough to Etobicoke, Torontonians want protected bike lanes. The reason is clear - when you build safe bike lanes, people use them...and everyone (including drivers) feels safer.

I love this city, it’s in my bones, and I believe that we truly need leadership that will raise the bar, stand up for Toronto and fight to make our city more affordable, safe and liveable for everyone.
